History
The Justin X. Carroll Residence Hall Honorary serves to cultivate leadership and service to residential life within the Washington University community. It boasts a long history from its previous incarnation, the Justin X. Carroll Chapter of the National Residence Hall Honorary. After falling into a short period of inactivity, XRHH was re-established over the spring semester of 2008. During the 2008-2009 year, XRHH formed its new image, created a new website, and returned to full membership.
Mission
XRHH is devoted to the recognition of excellence among Washington University residential leaders, believing that providing such recognition both rewards past service and encourages future action. To this end, XRHH pursues three primary functions. XRHH's foremost role is the presentation of its Monthly Residential Service Awards, to be published in both Student Life and the Congress of the South 40 Newsletter. Secondly, XRHH administers the Spring CS40/Northside Retreat at the beginning of the second semester. Thirdly, XRHH judges the Congress of the South 40 College Council of the Year Competition. The group's also awards the annual XRHH Freshman Scholarship, as well as the Larissa Malmstadt Distinguised Service Award, which recognizes four years of service to the Congress of the South 40 and its residents.
