XRHH's Monthly Awards represent the most visible manifestation of the group's mission: to recognize and encourage excellent programming and leadership in the Washington University residential community. XRHH's focus is on events that occur at, or are closely associated with, residential housing (both on and off campus). XRHH currently presents 7 monthly awards, which are chosen at the close of each month (September and the end of August being considered the first month of the year). For some months, XRHH may choose multiple winners. Moreover, the awards are sufficiently broad in scope that some may overlap. Reoccurring events are eligible.
Any event that occurs at, or is associated with, residential life on campus is eligible as long as it was primarily planned by Washington University undergraduates.
The Monthly Awards are:
- Diversity/Educational Event of the Month, for programming that educates students on any of a range of subjects, or sheds light on diversity (both cultural and socio-economic).
- Outreach/Community Service Event of the Month, for events that bring WashU students outside the bubble to the surrounding community.
- Social Event of the Month, for programming that encourages bonding, interaction, or just plain fun.
- CS40/NSA Member of the Month, given to an outstanding member of WashU's residential governments.
- Staff Member of the Month, to reward excellence in service by RAs, ResLife staff, or campus staff (maintenance, dining, etc.).
- Student Leader of the Month, given in recognition of residential leadership outside of CS40 or NSA.
